MGH IHP DE NP 2020

Published

Did not see a topic made for this year's cycle so I thought I would create one. Looking forward to replies!

Does anyone know when we actually start classes in the Fall?

@swtowannabepsychnp last year orientation was first week of Sept., so I think classes start right after that!

When I called last week they told me that classes start Tuesday, September 8th (Monday is Labor Day) and orientation is the week before!

Did anyone finish any prereqs with Doane online?

Hi! I was not offered any Scholarship in my acceptance letter. I really like the MGH program but I’m kind of worried how I would afford it. Has anyone talked to previous students and have they offered advice on how to pay for the program (for example certain Scholarships?). Any suggestions or advice would be helpful!

Thank you for sharing! What is the first year like in terms of semesters. Is it just fall and spring or do we go summer too?

Thank you

The program runs all three semesters. The first summer session we'll have multiple clinicals and one class.

Unfortunately for the vast majority of folks I know here, they had to take out the Grad PLUS loan to cover the full cost.. myself included. I took out the full amount to cover living expenses as well, as I decided not to work until after the spring due to the workload. Scholarships exist but are few and far between.

I did A&P through Doane. I had a decent experience with their courses.

Hi guys, question when they refer to the acceptance package are they talking about that initial e-mail that says we are accepted or did people get a physical letter in the mail?

@TheNietzschewas it difficult to get a Grad PLUS loan? Do you know what they look at for approval?

They have very, very loose credit requirements... unless you have a black mark on your report, like a lien, collection, or a default, you should be fine. It almost felt like a formality. My credit was terrible when I applied.

Did you have a lot of debt? I have some credit cards, mortgage and other student loans.
