Hey everyone! Thought i would create a thread for those who are applying to the MGH IHP ABSN program for summer 2019.

Have you submitted your applications yet? What schools are you between??

Got my acceptance via email on the 14th of January!

For those that have heard back about acceptances was there any information about scholarships?

It would be mentioned in your acceptance email. Then a follow up email from their financial aid office would be sent in a couple days following the initial email with more information regarding the scholarship.

Ok thanks! I applied for the January deadline and I won’t be hearing back for a few weeks so I was just wondering if that was included in the acceptance email.

Hey guys!

I have also heard back and received my acceptance letter for this program. I was wondering if anyone knew what the minimum GPA is to uphold during the program? And also what the class size is per cohort?

If we received a scholarship would we receive an email from the financial aid office or a letter?

An email. If you were rewarded a scholarship it would have been mentioned in your acceptance email. And then MGH financial aid office would email you a couple days later with more information regarding your scholarship.

I just completed my last semester there. I remember scrolling through allnurses looking for answers/guidance from other students who attended...so I just wanted to offer my help if anyone has questions.

This is really kind of you!!

Do you have any tips for our incoming cohort? Like studying, exam-taking tips, any sort prep before starting, etc. I want to be as prepared as possible as I know it’s a challenging program.

Looking back, would you say you are satisfied with your education at IHP and do you feel they prepared you well in taking on the nursing world???

Congratulations on finishing! You must be relieved- such an amazing accomplishment!!!

Thank you! Just wondering, do you think it is better to rent books instead of purchasing to save money?

Each professor is different. Some rely heavily on powerpoints, to be honest-I could have done without buying most of the books. This however, depends on the type of student you are. 510-I didn’t need ANY of the books, but the clinical assessment/skills books were helpful for my clinical wrote-ups. health assessment was pretty useful, I have a book I could sell for like $10 if anyone wants it. Talli uses the book for quizzes/assignments weakly. Psych you can totally get by without the books. Patho, Dr roy is amazing, and everything you will be tested on is highlighted in her slides. Use quizlet & testbanks.

The hardest semester by far by far is the 2nd semester, but I heard administrators are changing the curriculum so that you don’t have to take pharm & 520 together.

Overall, it was a good experience. I had my moments, but I try to be positive. I think that some of the unorganization comes from such a large cohort of students in one class.

Hi! I was wondering if you could share your experience with this program!? For example, the pros and cons of the program, what you loved best about this program and would you recommend this program to others? Thank you ?
