MGH Direct NP program 2016

Published

Hey!

Has anyone else applied to this program?! Just got an email that my application was being processed!!

WhaleThen ! I am also probably going to decide between here and Columbia. I still have yet to hear from Upenn, but I know the program is extremely competitive so am thinking I won't get in. What are your current thoughts between the two? And if anyone else is in a similar type of situation, please feel free to chime in! :)

Hi! Im so glad we are on the same boat, I am also waiting for UPenn. But kinda tossed it out of they require/encourage a car for clinicals? I am really bad at driving. I am leaning towards columbia because it is a DNP so i would be achieving my goals the fastest, however cost is definitely my biggest driving factor. I am waiting to see how much of a scholarship i get from MGH before I decide, and if it is a small amount, I will most likely be going to columbia (an additional plus is that I am originally from NYC)

Hi all! I got in for FNP specialty. I'm still in my undergrad also, graduating in June from a large public university in California.

Here are some of my stats:

Major in biology, minor in psychology

Undergrad GPA: 3.5

Pre-req GPA: Around a 3.3. I'm currently taking nutrition

GRE: 157 R, 156 Q, 4.0 in writing

I'm CNA certified and volunteered for a summer in a hospital in Tanzania. I also did a lot of public health research at the University of Washington last summer and I have volunteered for as a peer-health educator on my college campus for the past 2.5 years. Let me know if you have any other questions! I would be happy to share.

I got in for the Psych Mental Health NP Program. I am still waiting on Vanderbilt and OHSU as I interviewed at both. Anyway, my stats are as follows:

Undergrad GPA: 3.93, Major: Social Science, Double minor: Public Health & Women's Studies

Pre-req GPA: 4.0, but I still have to complete Microbiology

GRE: 146 Q, 152 V, 4.0 W

Congrats to everyone...this process anxiety provoking.

For those who have been accepted, What is your deposit deadline? I got put on the waitlist and am curious about the timeline

It says the deposit is due March 9th

Thanks for the info NP2_be , DR22 hopefully we will find out sooner than later :( and congrats to everyone who got in

Is there any information yet of an admitted student day for MGH? Trying to see if I can visit both Boston and NY the same week..

I just found out I was accepted into my top two choices of schools so will most likely be declining my spot in Women Health NP at MGH in the next week, so hopefully that opens a spot up for someone! Good luck everyone! :)

Very interesting! I am wondering if you know about the refugee/asylum seekers torture treatment clinic at OHSU? They just released the largest study on torture that has been pursued with an n=9000+; amazing place if you are interested in post-conflict migrant health!

In the past it has been in April, first-ish week or so. But not, they haven't given the exact date.

Hey everyone, I'm in for Dual Adult Gero/Women's Health! Has anyone been trying to contact admissions this week? I have sent two different emails and haven't heard back.

Hey guys!

Congrats to those who got in. I was in your shoes last year and remember being so anxious waiting for their decision with so many snow days. I am in the acute care track and just wanted to reach out and say that if you guys have questions, ask away!
