Hello! No forum for this cycle yet, so I figured I would start one ?

Who else is applying?!

Hi Everyone!

I applied to MGH IHP's direct entry MSN program as well for the family NP track! I haven't heard anything back yet so far since I applied, has anyone else? I know they extended their deadline to February 1st for applications this cycle but they also mentioned that they would still review the applicants that applied by December 1st beforehand!

Also, if any other current students have any insight into the timeline for the application process after submitting (I.e. if there were interviews offered, when acceptances were received, financial aid packages)? Thanks so much ?

Hi, no interviews necessary for this program. I'm 90% sure we were notified of acceptance before February 1st (if you applied by the original deadline) and the acceptance emails told you if you received a scholarship or not. A second email came later that same week with scholarship information.

@WMO358 Thank you it is nice to hear positive information. One more thing, I could probably keep going all day- but I won't. With online learning and the cost of the program- do you feel like you are getting your monies worth? I know that seems to be an ongoing issue with a lot of other programs.

This program was one of the more expensive ones I looked at but so far, I would say yes, its worth the money. Especially because we are still having clinical and labs in person. If everything was virtual, I would be much more inclined to say no but other than not interacting with fellow students as much, I don't think anything is lacking as far as education goes in the program due to online learning.

@WMO358 Thank you for all of the information you have provided. It is great to hear from a current student and based on the detail of the answers you provided, it is obvious that you really love this program.

My fingers are crossed for everyone. In looking at last years MGH thread- decisions were released later than expected, which I have also noticed also happening in a lot of programs this year. Hopefully that will not be the case.

Hi everyone! Any updates? None on my end ?

Specializes in nursing.

fingers crossed we get in guys!!

Does anyone know how many people are accepted for each specialty?

I heard back from admissions and they said they aim to hold true to what they said and let us know our decisions before Feb 1. Unless they work on weekends, that would mean today...

HOLY $#!%. I had a physical reaction to that news! Fingers crossed for all of us!

I remember someone posting about 11 (maybe 10?) seats per specialty in past threads but my colleague who graduated this program a couple years ago said they had 100 people in the class combined their first year...

Specializes in Dermatology, General Surgery.

Any word yet? I am so anxious. I applied to the PMHNP specialty. I applied for FNP to all other programs. I have my Masters and Bachelors in Clinical Psychology so I feel like I have a good chance but do not want to jinx it.

Anyone else checking their phones/email every 5 minutes? ?
