Hi, the patho class is definitely not as intimidating as it seems. The professor is great and gives tons of resources. we had 4 days a week with office hours, exam review sessions done by TAs, group activities in class, and the professor gives a study template for all the diseases to fill out that includes everything you need to know. Most people really enjoy that class and learn a lot. I am from out of state and was not familiar with Boston at all so I used a realtor to find an apartment with another student but there are several websites for Boston housing that I know people used and the school has its own housing website with apartments and you can make a profile and search for other students who are also looking for housing. Pretty much all neighborhoods have street parking with a permit and some have street parking without a permit. Many areas also have off-street parking depending on where you live. You can get a parking pass from the school for class and it also works at the MGH garage for clinical.

The original acceptance email said if you got a scholarship or not and then a second email a few days later with the amount of the scholarship.

Last year we found out about scholarships the same week as acceptance. Not sure about other financial aid.

My cohort started with about 105 and some specialities have around or over 20 people in them Not sure about how many are accepted but the specialties have between like 12-25

This program was one of the more expensive ones I looked at but so far, I would say yes, its worth the money. Especially because we are still having clinical and labs in person. If everything was virtual, I would be much more inclined to say no but other than not interacting with fellow students as much, I don't think anything is lacking as far as education goes in the program due to online learning.

Hi, no interviews necessary for this program. I'm 90% sure we were notified of acceptance before February 1st (if you applied by the original deadline) and the acceptance emails told you if you received a scholarship or not. A second email came later that same week with scholarship information.

Hi, I looked at and applied to about 10 of these programs and ultimately chose MGH because of the proximity to so many hospitals, the fact that all of your clinical placements are done for you, and the fact that you could choose a specialty besides FNP and would also graduate ready to take the board exam unlike some other programs. I am in the pediatric track but in the first year of the program, all students have classes together regardless of specialty. So far I am very happy with the program. All of the professors I have had so far are SO knowledgeable about the subject they are teaching and are so willing to do whatever they can to help students succeed. There are so many resources outside of class I feel like I don't even have time to take advantage of all of them. I have been doing NCLEX practice questions that go along with the topics we are covering in class and have had no problem with those so far. The clinical experience has been great, the first two semesters of med-surg clincals are at MGH and I didn't hear a single negative thing about anyone's clinical. From my experience and what I have heard, all of the clinical instructors were great. Mine did a great job getting us to see as much as possible during the first semester and was so willing to explain any question I had. They also don't expect you to know anything ahead of time but also don't make you feel like you don't know anything. In the classes, we covered basically the same topics/body systems in all classes at the same time which I really think help the material stick. Also, I think they have done a great job with COVID and having things online. We have access to free covid testing whenever we want and all students are also able to get the vaccine if they want. Honestly, I have no regrets so far.

I’m about to give up a spot in the FNP program

I put I would do my specialty year outside of middle Tennessee but does anyone know if it’s possible to change that? Or know how common it is to actually be in Nashville itself for the specialty year and not somewhere else in Tennessee if you do your specialty year inside MTA?
