Has anyone applied for the MGH Institute of Health Professionals ABSN for Spring 2016?
I thought I'd start a thread for applicants.
I believe the deadline is in July so I may be an early bird.
I appreciated their application the most - they really give their applicants a lot of opportunities to shine. Of all the schools I've applied to, they seemed to put the most effort into getting to know their applicants.
The summer 2015 start was about a 10 week wait. Last sept was the 8th. I didn't hear or see anyone hearing back in August...at least no one mentioned in the forum they heard that early. You will get an email stating date and time that you can log in and see your results. Best of luck to everyone!
In the Spring 2014 thread, some people found out on the last day of August, which has me checking my e-mail a little too often today :). But I haven't heard anything. I'm sure it won't be for another week or so though if its like last year. Good luck everyone!
I also applied, early too. I went on vacation and had a busy work schedule after that and I did not check my account to see if everything is okay. I did submit it but had an issue with one of my professors whom did not submit the recommendation letter and apparently that held my status as incomplete.... I was not aware of that until I received an email from the school and got it fixed, but I am furious that I did not check back and I applied in May. Hopefully they do not hold it against me. I think it was two days past the deadline...
I am very happy with the program. In terms of clinical placements, it really can't be beat. My first semester I was working on a very busy neurology floor, and our clinical instructor put us to work right away! It was an amazing learning experience. The program can be intense-- It is a lot of work condensed in a short period of time, but when I think about where I was where I started and where I am now-- I've come SO far. If I'd say any drawbacks--- our class is a little too large. The class started as over 120 people, and they essentially split us unto 2 cohorts.... and I think sometimes they seemed unprepared for all the extra people. Class scheduling gets a little confusing and I think they had to scramble to find faculty at the beginning of last semester to accommodate everyone... some bugs that still need to be worked out :)
Has anyone heard anything? I have a deposit at another school due this week so I am hoping we will hear back from MGHIHP soon before I send in that payment. I don't want to be annoying and call but it would also be super helpful if I knew if it would be this week or not! Also, thank you so much for that information about the program Lauren! Hi all! I called admissions about 2 weeks ago and asked when we would be notified of admissions decisions. I was told the week of September 7th! Hopefully sooner this week than later! Good luck everyone! I hope we can all make it! :)
Hey Guys! I also just got an email stating my decision will be available to be viewed this evening at 8pm... fingers crossed, so nervous! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
