MGH Accelerated BSN Spring 2016

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hello everyone!

Has anyone applied for the MGH Institute of Health Professionals ABSN for Spring 2016?

I thought I'd start a thread for applicants. :p

I believe the deadline is in July so I may be an early bird.

I appreciated their application the most - they really give their applicants a lot of opportunities to shine. Of all the schools I've applied to, they seemed to put the most effort into getting to know their applicants.

I've got my fingers crossed!

They do not have Rolling. I sent mine in a few days before deadline. Take the time to write your essay rather than rushing it. I suggest not submitting last minute of course.

What was your Undergrad GPA? Did you have clinical experience? I have over a year of clinical experience as an EMT in the Boston area, all A's and B's in the pre requisite classes, but my overall GPA is 2.979 for undergrad, which is the reason I was denied at Northeastern.

My undergrad gpa was 3.5 and in music from a major university top 25 in California. I had about a year of volunteering with a lot of pt/nurse interaction and great recommendations. get a rec from a RN Who can praise you on ur potential of being a nurse. I had 2 classes anatomy and developmental psych in progress but I took one extra physiology class and Microbiology class as well.

Hey guys! Did anyone already submit their application? I am submitting mine this weekend, but I am so nervous. I went to the open house, loved the idea of attending MGH, but decided I would wait before applying. This week I decided I should just do it. I almost have my entire application complete minus my essay. I'm also waiting for recommendations to be submitted.

Hi guys-

I'm a current ABSN student at MGH, and I wanted to clarify a little bit on what another poster had said. There is an online component to some of the classes, but it is most definitely not the majority. During first semester a couple of the classes were hybrids (some sessions in person, some online) but all nursing process/procedure classes and labs were in person on site. I'm just about to finish my second semester, and there was barely any time spent online for those classes-- all (or most) class sessions were in person.

I'm happy to answer any questions about the program that anyone has.

Good luck on your applications!!

Hey everyone! Is anyons else just as nervous as me? Tmrw is 8 weeks from the deadline so we can hear back any minute!

it most likely won't be til around the 10 week mark...historically speaking .

I am definitely getting nervous. I have been checking this site a lot lately just to see if anybody else has heard anything yet...

Me too! It is comforting though knowing that if I don't get in this Spring, I don't have to wait long for the next application round! I am from California, and love the idea of moving to Boston for a year. Crossing my fingers for everyone!

I am from CA too! I have always wanted to go to Boston for school...

@LaurenH38,

Are you happy with the program? I would love to hear about the pros and cons and what your experience has been like. Is there anything you are unhappy with?

Hey Guys!

Have you guys heard anything yet? I am getting so anxious, I also applied to Regis for Jan start and am waiting to hear back from them as well. I know from reading previous year threads people heard back starting Aug 31 and most knew by Sept 9th so we all should be hearing back soon. Fingers crossed for everyone!!
