Methodist San Antonio Residency Summer 2019

Hi all!

Just looking for others who applied for the summer 1 residency with San Antonio's Methodist Hospital system. I know they start making official offers next week, but I figured we could keep each other updated. I interviewed for several spots for the Children's Hospital. I'm going back Thursday to tour the OR, and I got a peer interview with ER at the meet and greet.

The last replies to this post were from a few weeks ago but I wanted to chime in because I was recently offered a position for the residency and will be starting in August! If anyone else is going to be starting in August, let me know so we can be nervous and excited together hahah

Hello,

I know this post is older but I went to the Methodist meet and greet today and had a peer interview for L&D. Do you think this is a good sign? I am hoping and praying I land this residency!

Hello, did you have a peer interview at the meet and greet or did they call you to come in later on? :) If you had a peer interview that’s a good starting sign, that means you stuck out to them after the initial interview! Good luck, fingers crossed for you!!

Where will you be working ? Me too! I’m going apartment hunting tomorrow to find a place to live ! Lol I’m coming from 9 hours away.

Hey thanks for responding! So I had the peer interview and they said they would call me next week for another interview and I said thank you. When I got home I got a text asking if I could come to the hospital that same day to do a staff. It went well I felt I’m hoping I get it!!

I'll be working at the Children's Hospital! I'm coming from 8 hours away but luckily have family here so I can avoid paying rent for a little bit. Have you done the employee health screening? I have mine soon and don't know if business attire is expected since it's just a screening and drug test ?

I have mine next week! I just asked the recruiter. He said “I would say just comfortable attire, but more along lines of a little less than business casual.”

I know this is an old post but I recently attended San Antonio's Meet & Greet on September 13th for the nurse residency program December 2019 start date. I had a peer interview at the event and another peer interview last week. Has anyone heard anything from the nurse recruiters yet? I haven't received an e-mail or a phone call. I have tried calling and haven't reached anyone. I know they are extremely busy so I wanted to check on here to see if anyone else has heard anything. If so, what departments will you be working for? Also, for those of you on this post that never landed a position with Methodist, what hospitals did you start working for? And do you like them? Any information would be helpful!! I am not from this city, I just moved here. Thanks!

Hey, so I interviewed for Methodist and never heard back from them. I recently started at Baptist Medical Center ED and love it so far! I would apply for Baptist and then try to reach out to the recruiter to follow up! Good luck, I know the struggle ? I had just moved here too.

@RN Hall S Thanks for the reply! Did you have experience in the ER or is this your first? And are you doing their residency program? Also, did Methodist ever contact you to let you know you didn't get a position? Just wondering if I should even be looking out for a call/email from them. Thanks for the info!! Glad you're loving Baptist's ER!

The only experience I have is a preceptorship in the ED during school. They don’t really have a residency program but there is a 12 week orientation. Methodist never got back to me at all.

Hi all I will be interviewing for San Antonio Methodist next month and I am interested in knowing what the starting salary for a new grad is and any insights for interviewing with them?
