Hi all!
Just looking for others who applied for the summer 1 residency with San Antonio's Methodist Hospital system. I know they start making official offers next week, but I figured we could keep each other updated. I interviewed for several spots for the Children's Hospital. I'm going back Thursday to tour the OR, and I got a peer interview with ER at the meet and greet.

Narrow down the specific areas and hospitals you want to work at and go there first to stand in line. Some people waiting in line over 3 hours just to interview for one spot, and a lot of the booths left around noon after they interviewed so many people. So keep an open mind and be prepared to stand and wait.

Bring recommendation letters along with your resume. Do your research on Methodist beforehand, some of my best interviews were when I brought in some knowledge I learned from that research. Other than that, just show that you have a passion for what you are doing.

I think what helped me the most was to stop being so "robotic" and just start being my true self. I stopped acting like I was being interviewed and giving them the answers I thought they wanted. I was 100% myself (but still professional) and I truly think that is what got me the job. I joked around with the people and made it a point to let them know how interested and passionate I was to work for them. Now if that isn't a true statement for you, i.e. you have your heart set out on another hospital, then I wouldn't lie about it. So really just be yourself and be understanding that they do have a lot of people to talk to and not just you and you will do great!
hope that makes sense.

I also applied for summer 2 and am anxiously waiting for a call. Good luck and let us know when you get an offer!
