well i work at mmc in oak ridge. i am a rn not lpn. but since this is a union hospital it is supposed to have higher payrates. i work 12hrs on evening shift and my shift diff is $2.75/hour. i am also topped out with pay because i have over 12 years experience. so i make over $21.00/hr. i am thinking that lpns make in the $12-14 range. hope this helps

Sweetie, hasve you went to their website? my husband and I lived in Oak Ridge about 4 years ago and he was a Maintenance man. I know a nurse there by the name Kim Seiber. We went to school together until HS. She went to Oliver Springs HS and I went to Mt. Pisgah Christian Academy. The website is Covenat.com and click on Mehodist Medical Center.

i spoke with my mom 12/4/05 and she told me that tere is alot of drs. leaving or have left mmc. my husband and i lived in o.r and he had worked at mmc from 1979-2002 in maintenance department. is this true? a dr. that has recently left, is the one my mom wanted when my dad was brought in sometime on 12/3/05.they found he had a small anurism in his stomache and a black was founf on his left lung. he had surgery to remove cancer on his right lung 3 yr. ago and has been smoke free since then.:uhoh21:

I didn't get the job but I am still applying for open CNA positions. All I have to do now is take the CNA Written Comp. Test for Tennessee to get my certification to work in Tennessee. Can you tell me if MMC will employ me while I am waiting on taking my test so that I will be able to give them a Tennesee paycheck stub? For right now....they will just be supplied witha GA. paystub because I donot have a job in Oak Ridge. BUT, I beieve that as long as I show proof that I have worked as a CNA for 24 month period. OH, DO you know of or remeber Jnell Pleasent? She used to work @ MMC in Maturnity but id now retired. She is my sister's mother-in-law and I am going t see if she will supply a letter of reference or recommendadtion to help me even more at getting hired @ MMC.:nurse:

not exactly sure you can do that. it is called practicing w/o a license and is illegal. for you to sit for the license exam you have to have a school sign off to the board saying you have completed school and are prepared for the exam.

i'm surprised the max out is that low there. i make very close to what granny makes at a hospital in knoxville and i've been out of school for close to 2 years. demand more granny. you're worth it :)

Granny, I will be taking my TN. CNA Written Exam on 10/22 and I would like to be able to do some CNA employement while waiting to take the test next month. I hate that Briarcliff is not hiring right now bcuz, it seems the only places the will acccept me while i'm in waiting is nursing homes that would take me in. Reniesansse in Harriman is willing to take me BUT..... MY DOWNFALL there is ....location. I would rather take a 10 min. drive to get home from work than a 25 min. drive if there was a snowstorm or icy roads. Briarcliff is about a 10-15 & the place in harriman is a 25 min. PLUS.... its a 1030p-7a shift and when you have snow blowing or rain blowing hard, you do not want to drive far from safety!
