Methodist Hospital in Dallas?

Published

Is this a good place to work? I'm in Tennessee but the jobs have dried up and we are thinking of a move, maybe to Dallas.

Although I have never worked there, nurses who have been employed there do not have good things to say about Methodist Dallas. Please click on the thread below to read about a nurse who recently resigned from there after moving to Dallas from another part of the country.

I am the nurse that The Commuter gave you a link to. I would definitely NOT recommend Methodist Hospital Dallas. I was told after 3 days that I was not right for the job. 3 days! Now usually I wouldn't say that about the whole hospital because of one dept. but I did leave a message for the HR rep to call me and no one called. At present I am unemployed and may very well have to leave the area. I have been here only about 1 month. Just be careful!

stay as far away from methodist as you can, for your own sake.

Have you tried Presby Dallas or the Dallas Veteran's Hospital ;)?

Also heard that Denton is actively hiring; but, that may be too much of a commute for you, depending on where you are now living.

I have tried not only Presby Dallas but Plano and most of the hospitals in Dallas. I haven't tried the Vet yet. I did not get a position I applied for at Plano Dallas and I am waiting on UT SW. I am starting to really look outside Texas. I can't wait too long and it appears that a lot of the hospitals are taking their time with applications.

Wow. Guess that settles it, then.

The Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospitals will hire anyone with a pulse and a nursing license, and the pay is competitive. In addition, many of the nurses who are employed with Healthsouth love working there.

i am an employee at methodist health systems, and i love it here. first off i am sorry that they let you go in 3 days, which is a shock to hear. i have found mhs to be a safe, caring, and friendly place to work. we have more positive things than i have seen in many other hospitals. i have been a nurse for 11 years and i have never worked in a hospital where all of the employees smile and are so friendly. things have changes as we have gotten a new ceo, along with many new additions to our senior management. they have changed the mindset of our hospital witch was before just happy to be open, to a proactive, progressive entity. we have acquired 2 new hospitals, and have expanded 2 of our existing hospitals, and opened about 12 new clinics in the past year. mhs is a non profit hospital and they are finically sound and taking steps to stay that way. we as employees are proud to work here as we have won the “best place to work” award for all of dallas and fort worth 5 years in a row. if others want to give us a try please do so i am very happy with mhs.

I am glad that you like it there. I am sure that there are nice people working there but I stand by my review. I have been a nurse for 26 years mostly in ER. I have since gotten a position in another hospital that is a way nicer facility than Methodist. I was unemployed for a month and was fortunate to get a position in that short a time. I moved over 1200 miles for the job at Methodist and then ended up being unemployed. I would not recommend Methodist to anyone.
