Published

Starting a thread for the October 2020 nurse residency at Methodist Dallas. I have applied for some positions and hope to hear something soon!

Has anyone actually heard from L&D for an interview on here? I reached out to them a few weeks ago and they said they hadn’t selected applicants and will be reaching out within the next few weeks. I was told they received over 200 applications. I saw on a previous post that it was “heard” L&D interviews were being held but I haven’t seen anyone actually post they received a interview invite?

Labor and delivery interviews were held Monday with the rest held tomorrow.  30 selected to interview.  They are hiring 2.

My friends recieved interview request today for Dallas. Be on the look out.

What units?

@maroonout bummer! I heard they were short staffed so I am surprised they are only hiring 2! I suppose I can retry again for Feb once I finish my current ICU residency!

good luck guys!

Where are you in residency for ICU?

Anyone else get the rejection email for the ER?

Did anyone get an interview for the ER?

I got the rejection email late last night for ER.

I prefer not to mention the Methodist location I am at. I will say that Methodist has a great residency program. For ICU specifically you won’t be on your own taking care of patients until week 15. (I don’t know if it will be different since some students weren’t able to finish their last clinical semester because of COVID). You will be in a lecture setting the first few weeks (currently it’s being done on zoom) and throughout this time you will take your ACLS. These first couple of weeks are M-F 8-4. Then you have one 12 hour day and 2 lecture days. It’s about week 6 that you will start working your 3 12s and following your preceptors schedule.

also, from other offers I’ve received when looking for a residency position, Methodist paid the highest. Just an FYI.

Thank you so much.  I didn't mean location ( I worded that poorly).  I should have asked which ICU. Sorry about that.

I received ER rejection email last night as well. Do anybody know what Medical City Dallas start off paying for their nurses residency? I applied to Medical City residency as well. Do anybody know anything about Medical City? Im applying out of state.

I know that you get $500 a week during residency.  You will also be required to sign a 3 year contract.

If you applied to the urology/gyn floor, they are setting up interviews...

Pay for Medical City Plano is $26.85 and I was told it was a 2 year contract. Fortunately I didn't take the job since they do pay you $1,000 biweekly during orientation. Also I'd really recommend not starting at Medical City because contracts suck and I have heard from several nurses that it sucks to work there cause they only care about money. Methodist doesn't make you sign a contract.

They have increased the contract to 3 years.
