Mersa

ok guys help me out here

is mrsa an antibiotic resistant infection? is this infection transmitted by contact, airborn, droplets? what kind of cautions do healthcare providers must take when taking care of patient? i was surprised that we had to wear a mask when taking care of patient with mersa.

I would like some information that I could put out for the teachers in my school. straight to the points facts.

MRSA at our hospital has been changed to MORSA and NORSA. Apparently they don't use methicillin here, but oxacillin for diagnosis. So they have the two different types; NORSA - Non Oxacillin Resistant Staph Aureus, (which is still a form of MRSA) but not as bad as MORSA - Multidrug resistant Oxacillin Resistant Staph Aureus. Do they use these terms elsewhere?

I would like that as well. I have contacted my local Health Department. They are gathering info for me.

I've heard of VRE and not VRSA as well.

Interesting thing about the nares. I'm sure if someone swabbed me by now I'd have it colonized as well. How many patients do we take care of and then a week later we find out they have MRSA?

This is Vanco Resistant Staphlococcus Aureus
