Hi All,
So I breezed through the Kaplan and honestly regrets taking the two weeks off work to study (ended up not studying at all and still passed with a 156). I have now submitted all my documents and am waiting for a call to interview. Is there anyone else applying to the spring term? The administrators there told me they placed me into the night group. I guess we don't get a choice on preference.

Hello, I've been searching for info as there's not much online. Were you able to go? How did it work out for you?
Hi shablue, I can't believe it's been a month since I told myself I would write you back! Many apologies. Are you still looking for info?
Yes I am, please and thank you!
Any info would still be great. I heard you have to agree to work for them?
Hi shablue,
Not sure where that info came from, but hats actually wrong...Mercy does not guarantee you employment.
I PMed you, check your messages :)
I posted my review of Mercy Hospital on the school/university forum. Bottom line? If you are in Broward you're better off going to Sheridan/ATT Tech/ McFatter. Even better? Get your pre-reqs from BC and (you only need 36 credits compared to a full AA) and get your bachelors.
Going to Mercy is a massive regret for me...the biggest waste of time and money ever.

Hi, I am looking at Miami Mercer LPN-RN program. Have you completed it? How was it? What exactly was on the pre-entrance exam? I have a B.S. in biology and an MS in public health from years and years ago ? ? The director told me the entry test was only reading and math! Is there also sci?
Look forward to your feedback !
Hi elzabeellie,
I am so sorry I didn't respond to you sooner! The notifications must be going to my spam box. Did you complete the entrance exam yet?
Hi there, Yes I took the test.
They told me they will have one more round of the LPN program. I feel at once very lucky and very worried.
I could really use some feedback on other's experiences in the program and thereafter. Are you still studying at Miami Mercy? Can you share with me your impressions, experiences...what you love what you DO NOT love ... Your hopes and dreams :) ? [We could connect via phone if you prefer :) }
My suggestion is run run run far away...organizationally they have a new chancellor that...that...I just don't even have the words for. It's most definitely not the same school I remember and they are in the process of transitioning out of LPN-RN bridge and into a traditional ASN program (think Miami Dade/Broward College program structure).
The school aside: my suggestion is to go straight to your BSN and you'll save time and money in the long run. Not sure what your situation is but I know at Nova you only need 36 credits to start your BSN and you'll graduate in a total of 3 years including pre-reqs.
I regret not going that route....I thought doing the CNA-LPN-RN-BSN was "the best choice" because it would give me experience and I could continue on with my studies. I'm here to tell you: nothing translates between the two and to be honest the LPN isn't worth it if you aren't planning on working for a while first. Then comes the down fall of programatic nursing is FAR different than applied nursing and I have found I am struggling MORE because real world nursing is completely different.
Sadly it will take me 5 years to get a BSN instead of the 3. I wish I'd had someone to tell me this....I'd have been done with school already and not struggling to barely get C's.
