MERCY COLLEGE NY ABSN FALL 2021

Hello, I am currently enrolled at Mercy college ( BS PSYCH) upon completion I hope to apply to the accelerated nursing program. I contacted the school for more information, they recently told me applications for the Summer program are due march 1st 2021 (I graduate in may) which means for the Summer I will be deferred until later semesters if accepted anyway.

I am wondering if anyone have any details into the program? Looking to apply in the near future ect. 

My pre requisite grades are not the best but I hope I get in. 

GRADES 

A&P I ....... A

A&P II....... B 

MICRO......B+

DEV. PSYCH ......B+

CHEM......C+ ( I struggled terribly with this course and it has been my lowest science grade ) 

STATS.....A-

NUTRITION.....A- 

because this is my first semester at mercy, I don't have a current GPA but I hope it makes the mark....

So you are also just sending the unofficial transcript to the school or can we submit ourselves in the document and later send the official transcript from our school to Mercy??

Hey Guys 

 I will be graduating this May and in the application it said that :

 [ This program requires a bachelor's degree. Please check this box to certify that you currently hold a bachelor's degree ]

Should I check this or  since I will be getting bachelor's degree in May I shouldn't check this now?????????

Also another question: I have added the recommender information in the application. Can I go ahead and submit the application even though the status of that is not received yet or do I have to wait until the recommender has sent the recommendation then only I can submit my application?

Ohhh I'm not sure what I would do in that case. I don't want to tell you the wrong thing. I would probably call ---------------- and see what he says. He seems pretty nice.

As far as the recommendation, you can go ahead and submit the application if you have put the recommender's  information in. The status will show up in the portal when it has been received from them.

Hi everyone, 

I'm graduating this semester from CUNY so I applied for the Fall 2021 semester. 

My overall GPA is a 3.54. My prereq GPA is alright but it's not that high. 

A&P II: B

Micro: B

Human Development: A 

Chemistry: A

I do have some medical experience but I also have some downsides when it comes to my transcript LOL. I hope they conduct a holistic approach. I also applied through common app and even though there's no place to submit recommendations on there, you can submit them to the admission office and they'll add it to your application. Good luck to you all!!

Does anyone now when they will start looking at applications???? and more than likely when they will send out notice?

The only thing I was told was that they will start looking beginning of March.

Just an FYI if you guys have any of the pre-reqs in progress that won't end before April, they will not admit you for Fall 2021. I just got a call yesterday that I would need to defer my application to Spring if I want to be considered. Apparently all pre-requisites need to be done before the "application deadline" in April, which I was unaware of when applying.

That is crazy, I remember asking the admissions rep (P.R) if I would still qualify for the fall 2021 semester because I am in the proces of taking Micro and I believe he said it would be fine....

 

I am upset if this is the case, @Juliad96 are you going to defer for the Winter then? why the Spring? cause it looks like I will have too as well, but I havent received a call??

also do you have to pay the application fee again??

I’m not sure, I was called by a woman named ---------------------. It wasn’t the nursing counselor ---------------------. I have A&P 2 in progress at BMCC so I’m not sure if that is a different case than Micro. She might have meant I could defer to Winter since my classes will be done by that deadline but I won’t be deferring since I already got in another school for fall so I don’t want to delay any longer.
