Mercy College or Monroe County Community - opinions?

U.S.A. Ohio

Published

I'm seriously considering the ADN program at Mercy College of Northwest Ohio or Monroe County Community College. Any opinions for or against either program?

I didn't visit Monroe but I visited Mercy and didn't care for it at all. Not that it's BAD, I just felt the school/teachers were not a good fit for me. Plus it is ungodly expensive, being private and all.

i have a friend that goes to the school shes also in the rn bsn program and she likes it there are some classes that you have to take that are not necessary. like religion/ music . I attend lourdes and omg im taking intro into religion its like i have to take it :(

Yeah, Lourdes and Mercy are private Catholic schools. Most private religious schools require some type of religion class and some even require your attendance at religious services. (I don't know if Lourdes or Mercy do)

^^ yeah they do

That's another reason I withdrew my app from Mercy -- I am not religious at all and didn't want to spend extra money on stuff like that. (I just graduated w/ my BA a year ago so it's not like I've got a lot in the way of savings)

well congrats on your BA in working on my RN BSN now :) take care

:twocents: I attend Monroe, and am starting their RN program/clinicals in the fall. It's a very competitive program, but in a good way. I love the school, and look forward to graduating!! Good Luck!

I ended up choosing Monroe and will be starting their program this fall as well. I was there for orientation a couple weeks ago and probably saw you and didn't even know it. :)
