Hi All!

I recently got admitted to MCHS in Des Moines, Iowa for their ABSN program for Spring 2021. For current or graduated students, I was curious to know what the school is like and what the program is like. Is it a good program overall? I really appreciate any info! Thanks!

Did you take the NCLEX in California?

Or In Iowa and then got licensed by endorsement?

I did here bc I came home as soon as I could but others stayed in Iowa for an extra month or 2 and did endorsement. I think endorsement may be quicker bc mercy will drive your transcripts to the Iowa BON.

OK got it. Thank you! It’s been so hard to get concrete info about this and the CA BON is impossible to get a hold of. So you helped me SO much!

When you start the NCLEX application process in school, if you do end up taking it in CA, you'll have to figure it out on your own bc its different than Iowa. Its pretty straightforward on the CA BON website. if you need to get ahold of the board, just keep trying everyday. Eventually you can talk to someone. if your stuff is processing longer than it should, talk to someone at the board bc thats the only way things will move forward. the website isn't always clear if you are missing something.

the current wait times to get licensed in CA are 10-12 weeks. Did you have to wait that long to take the NCLEX?
