Mercy College ABSN Spring 22'

Published

Hi! ? I haven't seen a thread for the Mercy College Spring 2022 cohort so I decided to start one. I have been accepted elsewhere but Mercy was my top option and really want to go there. Hope to meet others in this journey ?

Thanks. I applied on August 2nd.

Hey ?

Does anyone know what next steps are ? I received my financial aid package and reached out to our admissions counselor but low key a little lost. None of the next steps on the portal really have links or much info. I set up my connect account but as far as submitting immunization records, registering for class, etc,. it doesn't give much info

Also, out of curiosity, how is everyone planning to balance work and school? Currently I have a full time & a part time job but I'm afraid ill have to lose the 9-5 (along with my tuition reimbursement and insurance ?) since we will have some in person classes. if it were all online things would be is much easier ! does anyone else work a full time and plan to keep it ?

BTW: I sent in my application 8/21 & received my acceptance 10/11. I see that's a big question here.

Thanks,

T

If you don’t mind me asking!! Is the financial aid package doable. How much more do you have to pay out of pocket

it is doable(ish) with the current package they sent me. About 50% would be covered by loans and the other half would be out of pocket.

Hi congrats to everyone who made it! Just want to say for those who are still waiting or did not get in this semester keep trying! I was wait listed and rejected many times but don’t give up! I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any differences between the M-F program vs the weekend? I originally applied for the weekend and did not get in for the fall, but I was accepted for the Spring Monday through Friday. Do any of you know people in either cohorts? I know this program is kinda new but I’m just having a lot of anxiety about managing my life outside of school LOL. I was also wondering if anyone asked (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) if it’s possible to defer your acceptance to start in the Summer or next fall? I really don’t want to give up my spot but I was just curious if anyone had these question as well.

I thought you can choose which program you want to do once accepted? I didn't know just have to specifically apply to the m-f/ weekend differently

I had asked this question like two days ago to (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME), which he informed me that I would have to reapply for the Fall for the weekend program.

You should definitely accept about deferring, but I don’t think you can defer to the fall since I think that’s the weekend start. I was told by (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) I would have to reapply for the fall for the weekend program. m. I was accepted and made the decision to go with another school in the Fall due to wanting to spend less time traveling. Also, it was a bit concerning reading that there’s a possibility of traveling up to 75 miles for clinical.

Yeah it was a little unclear especially when applying for the Spring because the website pushes for the weekend. Spring 2022 is everyday during the week I think most programs are. Maybe it’s more beneficial to go everyday instead of 3. I was just hoping to work a day or two here and there at my job but I don’t think that’s going to happen now.

I think some clinicals will be in Long Island right?  The thought of re applying just scares me I should just take the opportunity now

I have no idea. I wish these programs would provide more information. I decided to defer my enrollment until the Fall at another program because I had visited where the campus was for this program and another and was unnecessary about traveling.

Hi, is there mercy ABSN Spring 22 facebook group?
