Merced College Fall 2022/Spring 2023 ADN

Starting a thread for any ADN applicants. This will be my first year applying to nursing programs. Already have a Bachelor's in Health Administration but GPA is only 3.35. Looking for others starting the process :).

Congratulations! Did they mention if the books have changed? I know they only do ebooks so I need to buy those and also a hard copy because I hate ebooks.

Hey! Are any alternates still going to go to Spring orientation?

Hi Erin, is it true they only do e-books?! At orientation they said we’d be paying $1200 for books but I didn’t realize it was for ALL digital material! OMG

I'm pretty positive it is Ebooks only. Unless they changed it. I've had two friends graduate from Merced and told me EBooks only. As far as,  alternates I'm not sure mostly likely not if they all went to the Fall orientation.

Yes we did. I’m next to get put in the fall cohort if anyone cancels so I’m kinda preparing but not too much in a rush since I have a 4 month old.

Fingers ?! So if you don't get in fall that's it or do you have a chance for Spring?

Yes all alternates were chosen to cover fall and Spring.

Make sure you keep your phone on full volume 1st day of class for Fall cohort!  Sometimes people don't show.

Does anyone know if we buy the books beforehand or if we wait till the first day? I remember at orientation they said to bring a credit card the first day and the book bundle would be $1200 but I'm assuming that's for ebooks. Is it possible to buy hard cover books? Only because it's cheaper to buy them used and it would be less than $1200.

Call the school and ask. But I think we have to buy the bundle the 1st day though them only.
