Hi there all from the Netherlands!
I am due to start my own nursing practice in July as a menopause consultant and would love to chat with others doing the same.
I will start by helping the expatriates/international ladies going through the menopause in a foreign country. any tips, advice most welcome!
Later I will also be doing the locals as I will be part of a franchise and will also get referrals from a national telephone number.

hello, ddt4u and welcome to allnurses.com and the nurse practitioner forum
great to have you with us. so, you are a nurse practitioner? tell us a little more about your education. glad to have another health care provider amongst us.:balloons:
Hi there Siri, you also a menopause nurse? are there any more? is NAMS the only place to the speciality in the US?
I am originally from South Africa. I did a 4 year nursing college diploma affiliated to the university. then you are a registered nurse (general, psychiatry and community health) and midwife.
after I arrived in Holland, I converted it into a bacchelors degree in a special adapted for me course!
then I went into geriatrics. then I was a stay at home mom. then I started my own nurse consultancy to help the pregnant expats/internationals have their babies in Holland and now I am going to start my own nurse practice for ladies in the menopause after completing the "care for women" speciality. I will continue to do the preggy's but only on the side line. we don't have a family planning course here. any one know of a long distance one?
I may be doing the 'health care consultancy' too. but first get my practice up and running.

Goede Ochtend ddt4u van een Nederlandse verpleegster. Het is Goede Middag voor u, één van beide manier Hallo and welcom to allnurses.
I am Dutch, I've been here since the third grade and have been an American Citizen for 37 years. My parents and brothers live here but the rest of the family is all still in Holland.
I am 50 y/o and right in the mist of menopause. I resisted any HRT for several years but my emotional state got so bad last Oct that I said, I have to do something so I am on Prempro. My estrogen level which was 0 is now at the lower end of normal and I feel wonderful. I have gained 15 pounds since then but that's a whole other story. Welcome to all nurses, I'll be looking forward to reading your posts and following how your business is going.
