Memphis UTHSC ABSN for Spring 2021

Has anyone received their invitations to interview? It says we're supposed to receive them by the 31st but I haven't had any communication after that initial timeline email. Just trying to gauge whether I should still be hopeful or not LOL

I didn’t ask about the timeline, but thinking back on it, I wish I would have. I’ve just been sticking to the timeline on the initial email after submitting my application. My heart is set on knowing the final decision by September 30th so I’m hoping the process stays on schedule!

So far they have stuck to the timeline so we should know by September 30th.  It feels like a year away though.

It really does! Crossing my fingers for all of us

I received some good news! I hope you all did too!

I did too.  Yayyy

I did as well! Good for us!!

Congrats guys! I was given the green light too and will be coming from out of state. I have never been to Memphis and was wondering if anybody on here had suggestions or ideas on where to live around campus?

Congrats everyone!

@Hordorhordor I’ll also be researching the Memphis area/good apartments to rent. I’ll keep you updated if I learn any suggestions on where to go/where not to go!

Congratulations you all.  Next stop moving to Memphis.  House hunting is what I do not look forward to.

I’ve lived in Memphis for about two years, it’s definitely a town where one block is fancy houses and the next block is sketchy apartments, so keep that in mind! As far as places to live near campus, definitely check out the Victorian Village area, it’s close to campus and pretty safe. If you have a car generally anywhere in Midtown is 5-10 minutes away from campus; I personally have lived in Cooper Young and near the Broad Ave Arts District and loved both of those areas. I also have some friends that live in East Memphis near the U of M, which is farther away but has a lot of different shops and apartments in a walkable area. I’m not too familiar with the options Downtown, but I know there’s plenty of apartments in that area and they tend to be priced a little higher than other neighborhoods. Hope this helped!

Thank you.  Do you live in a home or an apartment?  I looked online and looks like rents have gone up significantly from a few months ago.  I have a car but hope that I do not have to drive frequently.

I’m open to a roommate if anybody else is considering one. There’s a housing portal on the school website I plan to utilize once I get my school email. They list open housing as well as a Find a roommate.
