Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to start a thread for anyone out there applying to Memorial Hermann's Nurse Residency for Summer 2016!!
I applied to Memorial Hermann 2 days ago, but have yet to receive any sort of assessment quiz. Is everyone else receiving this or were some people just confused because of Methodist? Also, I am from Florida, and I really don't know much about this program. Can someone please explain to me what "match day" is? Thank you!! :)
I don't think any of us have received an assessment quiz from Memorial Hermann. They could be not doing it this time. Who knows! Match Day is basically where you go interview for your top 2 choices. Or at least they try to give you your top 2 choices. Group interviews usually. I believe those are the only interviews they do and offers are made based off those interviews. Hopefully that made sense! [emoji16]
Sorry for the confusion in my post I think I read an earlier post wrong perhaps! Thank you for the replies! Let's keep eachother updated! Best of Luck to everyone!!!
on a side note.... Anyone going to the information session for Ben taub Wednesday? I submitted application Friday and got my invitation this morning!
Yeah... When I got that email today I was like oh crap! I'm scrambling for Letters of recommendations with two days! Lol. I have other LOC for other hospitals but I wanted one for Ben taub specifically.... I just thought it was crazy with a two day notice!! I'm not going to scratch it just because I am SO passionate about critical care and trauma. From what I have been told, they exemplify it. But honestly I'll be honored to get a job at any critical care department ( icu, er) in the med center area... Much less an interview for one! But thanks for replying :)
The phone interview went well! It was with one of the recruiters at MHNE. That was my first choice and the Woodlands my 2nd. I would assume that it is all hospital specific and recruiter preference for when they call or send out match day invites or info.
But the phone interview was pretty basic questions:
Why do you want to work for MH?
What sort of experience do you have: school, work, and clinical?
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Can you commit to the contract?
Are you okay working days, nights, and weekends? (MOST spots are overnight, not all)
Nursing GPA and about nursing school.
When do you plan on taking your NCLEX?
If you did clinicals at a MH facility: what was your favorite floor or unit and why?
