Memorial Hermann New Grad Residency Fall 2017

Published

Hey everyone! Just wanted to start a thread for applicants for the fall 2017 cohort applicants!

I heard it's a way to meet all the managers for each unit so they know who you are and you know more about them before match day

Specializes in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery.

Definitely a late reply but I got in as well! I'm in the Gynecology perioperative area! :D So excited!

I also applied. I received interview style questions to answer and an online assessment to complete. I have no received anything regarding an open house however. :(

Hello there. I also applied for Southwest location -ICU and children's L&D. I REALLY want the ICU gig. Good luck everyone.

I applied to tmc. I'd love to get into OR or ICU! I got the email for open house but didn't get any interview style questions. í ½í¸³

Does anyone know if pre-match day is where we meet managers from all Memorial Hermann locations or just TMC managers?

Hello fellow nurses! I applied last Saturday, but I haven't received anything yet as far as the questionnaire. I'm hoping to hear something back. How long did it take after y'all initially applied to hear something? Also I did sign up for "pre-match" day just for good measure.

I would highly recommend attending Pre-Match Day. I attended Match Day and those who attended Pre-Match Day were able to have their interviews in the morning. I think this could give you a slight edge since some units offer jobs on the spot that day.

Any advice as far as what to expect? aside wear professional dress, have copies of your resume/recommendation letters? I'm really hoping to hear something soon. I just applied last Saturday....im worried bc I only have my ADN but I was a LVN transition student. Hoping to stand a chance with the BSNs

So I didn't go to Pre-Match Day but I do believe that they take resumes. For Match Day, the interviews are in a group format (not individual). You were able to choose only one unit you wanted to interview for and then had to wait for a couple hours in an auditorium (I had to wait until 2:00 for my interview). They then called you up along with two other interviewees. You are brought to a panel from that unit that interviews you. They asked us four questions and they rotated which person they asked first. I did not like this style at all and it was hard for me to relax. The one question that stumped me was "How do you define success?" Right after the interview they pull you aside and let you know if they wanted you to continue the process or not. The positive for me that day was that they pay for your lunch ;).

Oh no that sounds awful
