  1. Things that gross you out..

Oh, and when they brush their teeth and I give them water to swish around in their mouth, and instead of spitting it back out they swallow it. All that old food, toothpaste, gunky water...makes me gag inside every time!
  2. Couldn't believe he did this...

Yes, I do understand now. :) Looking back, I appreciate and thank you for your honesty. I apologize for being sensitive.
  3. Things that gross you out..

Mealtime at my job. I'm a CNA to elderly with dementia. They will put food in their drink and then drink it, get their hands in their food, lick them and touch everything, mix odd things together. Grosses me out. I don't do well with small children e...
  4. Couldn't believe he did this...

Update: this topic is exactly what we talked about in class today, with emphasis on "you cannot under any circumstances delegate someone for anything that requires assessment. As a nurse, that is YOUR responsibility." So I took the liberty in just ta...

Yes, they are licensed (certs hang right on the wall as you walk in) and also recieve state inspections. Idk why but yes, I'm learning that WA is VERY lax.
  6. Couldn't believe he did this...

And see, this makes sense to me. But it also confuses me, because all these nurses and whatnot explain to me that the way we're doing it is how it works. I don't understand why nurses would delegate and then never be around. They treat it like it's t...

Aw thank you! That is very sweet of you to say. :)
  8. Couldn't believe he did this...

Well luckily tomorrow I have a job interview, so hopefully I get to turn in my two weeks on Wednesday and have these delegation days behind me! WOOTWOOT
  9. Couldn't believe he did this...

Yes, I hear often that "there's the nursing school way, and then there's the hospital way." I definitely believe that is true. I should have clarified more though that that comment wasn't really made in terms of different styles of work among coworke...

It's okay, no problem. :) I should have articulated that better!
  11. Couldn't believe he did this...

Ah, I guess I did word that strangely. Also, perhaps "superficial" was not the best word to use. I didn't mean it in that sense. I meant that I may not know advanced skills or methods, but that I do know basic concepts of some health topics. For exam...
  12. Couldn't believe he did this...

At the end of the day, though I have gotten defensive here on some things (more related to my personal feelings than the actual situation), I do agree that where I work has bitten off more than they can chew and I don't really want to participate in ...

Omg, wow - I almost missed this! Thank you BlueDevil,DNP, for pointing this out. Jadelpn, even just a quick Google search would attest that I am not incorrect. Not to mention that this is what the RNs have instructed me to do. Silly how, becau...

I probably would not be nearly as sensitive if I didn't have this job anymore. It's just not a good feeling when you're in school to be an RN and the RN's you look up to are revolted at what you do in your workplace. How else am I supposed to feel bu...

I won't disagree that OCRN63 was incorrect in what they were trying to get accross to me. However, they could of done it in a way that didn't sound like the were reprimanding me like a child in gradeschool. Again, I felt like they were coming from a...
