student nurse here, Can someone please explain the difference between an advanced practice nurse and a clinical nurse specialists?
In some states, (but I don't know if in ALL states) a CNS is an APN. There are 4 APNs (advanced practice nurse). They are Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Certified nurse midwife, nurse practitioner, and certified Nurse Midwife.

I am doing the CNS practice tests at So far, I've done 2 and I scored 310 on each one, which isn't a high enough score to pass the ACNS certification exam. Did anyone do these practice tests and then take the ACNS cert exam? Did you pass? I guess I'm trying to find out how indicative the scores on the practice tests are in relation to success (or failure) of the real test. I take mine in a week......and now I'm getting worried that I don't know enough!! Thanks.
