Hello! I can't send you a private message, so I'll just respond here.
It's possible - we've had about 5 or 6 people in my year do it. However, it works out best if you do it early, and it's also important to know that it's difficult to switch into family since that's the most popular. We had the most swaps to women's and to peds. Someone just tried switching to adult just this past week but was unable to because she waited too long. So moral of the story, try to swap in the first semester and don't get your heart set on family. What specialty are you now? Let me know if I can help you decide which specialty is best for you!
Also, I highly recommend BC It's a lot of work but the professors are great (and I just saw my first baby born Tuesday yay!) It's a really small program so we are really lucky with clinicals and get a lot of personal attention. Good luck!

I'm a current BC direct-entry student - they notified us very early Feb this past year and the year before that was late January. Good luck to you all!

Thank you so much for writing that all out! I really appreciate it, and I'm sure everyone else does, too. Are you leaning towards BC now? We can also write on the FB group's wall if that's easier

Congrats on your merit scholarships, mellzie and pianoman! Is there a specific name for the scholarship? I tried looking up various available scholarships at MGH but am having a tricky time finding this information. Thank you!

Also, hopefulnurse, you've got a really great GPA and it sounds like you've got some good healthcare experience. Besides taking the GRE over (it's so stressful when you're in the test, isn't it??), I think the only thing you'd have to really worry about is writing a good personal statement and forming strong relationships over the next year for recommendations (it's 2 academic references and one work-related). I don't think I can message yet since I just joined, so if I'm able to soon, I can send you my information.

Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to everyone on the wait list! I got into the Family NP program at BC. Is anyone considering any other Boston schools? I'm waiting to hear from MGH Institute of Health Professions and Northeastern. It's tough since the deposit to BC is due so soon. Has anyone heard pros or cons about any of these schools? I've tried looking at past threads, but none of them seem very current. I'm excited about BC but concerned about not working as an RN beforehand (whereas at Northeastern you have the co-op and MGH you can work as an RN during the summer) and the intense timeframe. Any information on any of the schools would help!
