  3. JCAHO and bedside medications...

    Our pharmacy prints "May self-administer" on the MAR for those items so that they may be kept at bedside; not sure if that's OK with JCAHO or not? I can't imagine my night if I had to keep running those in to my patients; holy cow. Ridiculous!!

    re: "I wonder if the little snookums gets his/her own hospital bill too.;)" Oh, yeah; my son had his very own hospital bill, and it was at least half of what mine was! Came in the mail before he was even a week old; no time wasted there!

  7. anyone have a good sheet for taking report on pts ?

    I use a report sheet provided by my unit, and staple it to a blank daily planner sheet from Outlook of the hours of my shift (e.g. 1900 to 0700). That way I have the info that I need on my couplets on one page, and I can fill in what I need to do at ...
  8. Have you thought of making your own sheet? I've combined the one everyone uses, and added my own to make me feel more organized and it's working pretty good so far...I think you just have to tweak things to make them work for you.
  9. I also love it... I find it the best thing I've done career-wise... I just love helping the new families learn their way, and I really love taking care of the brand new babies. I'm very much where I need to be!!!

  11. First day was great... very busy, but I know this is where I want to be! Today went by much faster with all boy babies and circs before discharges, etc... I got compliments from all of my patients, so that was a huge boost of confidence that I'm doin...
  12. I am a new OB nurse as well...my first day of floor orientation is Wednesday! Perhaps we can compare notes as we go along... I am very excited, because this is why I too became a nurse.
