  1. I know of more than one person who has passed the NCLEX PN with 205 questions and one student in my ADN class passed NCLEX RN with 265. All hope is not lost...I am praying you can find peace through the wait.
  2. Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?

The trick worked for me. I took NCLEX RN on Tuesday morning, tried the "trick" early Tuesday afternoon and got the infamous error pop up. Quick results confirmed my pass today!!!
  3. PASSED!

Congratulations!!! I, too, found out that I passed the NCLEX RN, today. It's a wonderful feeling! I did the Hurst online review and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone preparing for NCLEX. It was a huge help. And, in case you're wondering, the...
  4. So FREAKED! Took NCLEX and still no results...

Just wanted to add my congratulations!!!!
  5. no longer nursing student

I think your choice was courageous...I wish I were writing your post. Unfortunately, my husband would not support that choice. I hate what nursing school has done to our family. Sure, I'm in school and keeping it together, but that's about it. I'm...
  6. No laptops in class, seriously?

I am in the back row, no one sits on either side of me since our class has dwindled to 21 students. No matter what you think about laptops, I am not distracting anyone. I use my touchpad to move the mouse and it's completely silent. I'm not actual...
  7. No laptops in class, seriously?

Just an update...I received an email today saying the following a faculty meeting, the students are now able to use laptops for note taking, but as has always been the policy,no other recording devices are allowed. YAAAY!!!!
  8. No laptops in class, seriously?

I'm not talking about boring here. When I check my email during class it's while our instructor is giving us detailed instructions on cooking pork brains and tomato gravy, for example (yes, seriously). I feel disrespected as a student with the amoun...
  9. No laptops in class, seriously?

That may be the case for you, but my notes improved significantly with the use of a laptop. I can type much more quickly than I can write, and my notes are much more organized and legible. We all do things differently, what works for you may not w...
  10. No laptops in class, seriously?

I'm pretty sure I can manage, too, but thanks for the encouragement. I wasn't implying that I couldn't do this without a laptop, but it sure makes things easier. Besides, I kind of miss the tappity tap of tiny fingers running across a keyboard, kn...
  11. No laptops in class, seriously?

Gotcha! Thanks again. Your classrooms must be set up quite differently than ours. I don't think I've ever been in a class where I was close enough to feel the vent out of a laptop. Most of my nursing classes have actually been in a lecture room wi...
  12. No laptops in class, seriously?

Not really sure what your saying about "behind on the screen itself?" I usually sit in the back row with my computer, I started doing this because I thought if the tapping was going to be distracting, it would be less so if I were in the back. I'm ...
  13. No laptops in class, seriously?

Funny, I've never heard anyone complain about the tapping of the keys. As a matter of fact, it's something I asked about before bringing mine to class. The reasons I've heard are the recording devices and possibly, internet use...though, I really don...
  14. No laptops in class, seriously?

Just wondering if this is standard policy now that many laptops come equipped with recording devices? I purchased a laptop specifically for note taking when I began a 2 year nursing program in fall 2007. I am now in the first semester of the 2nd ye...
  15. OB Clinicals

We just finished our OB rotation and were not allowed to do vaginal exams...much to my relief. We mainly did assessments of moms and newborns since the OB department at our local hospital is not very busy. I only saw 1 vaginal delivery and 1 c-secti...
