Thanx for researchin that for me. I will look into vtag again next year before fall 2008 and see if it works for me then because by then i will have worked in va for a year.
Nadia, thanks for ur reply. Do you have to have been a VA resident for some time to get that vtag thing? How would I go about asking about a minority scholarship? Do you know anyone who has qualified for that?
I took the NCLEX in June after graduating in May and passed for the first time and I had it to do all over again I wouldn't have studied a darn thing. I crammed with Saunders the week before the NCLEX and it didn't help me one bit!

I took it in June and passed and I took all 265 questions which royally sucked might I add. I knew for sure that I failed when I walked out since all my friends passed with 75 or 80 questions, so I'm sure you did great!

Thanks, I'm not lookin' for a hand-out nor did I expect any minority scholarship that I might miraculously happen onto (since whites typically don't get those) to pay for anywhere close to 100% of my tuition/fees, but it would sure help

I concur with what the other posters on this thread have said...nothing you will learn in ur BSN program will help at all on the GRE. I just graduated BSN in May and I took the GRE in December and did just fine and got into grad school with it. So,...

Hey, as a new grad I would also be super-scared workin' with vents my first job out of school. Granted, I don't feel completely retarded, but put in an autonomous position as a real nurse I probably would...Good luck, you'll learn a lot!!

I agree with part of what you are saying, but by the slim chance that I did get a minority scholarship especially at an all-black university, I know that there wouldn't be the chance that some under-priviledged student went without because they helpe...
Your message was a lot of help!! I just wanna get out there and work so I can work out all the bumps and curves cuz I know that its gonna be a challenge but I'm tired of thinkin/talkin about it!!!
I have heard one of my friends that also just graduated in May with me talk about having a million diff. preceptors and how it sucked not just having one. I am fixin' to start a job in which the nurse manager told me that they try to keep u with on...
I hear ya as a new grad, I am fixin to take my first job as nights since I will be going to school from about 4-7 and then working 11-7 some nites during the week and some 12 hr shifts on the weekends. I hope I am not signing a death wish. I'm sort...
I just got offered a job (in virginia) as a new grad BSN on nights part-time approx 24 hrs. a week. So I would say there are situations out there like you're wantin' ...it seems like not as many ppl wanna work nights so it should technically be easi...

Yea, but I don't know how to go about it, because I feel awkward going up to the Financial Aid office counselors who are predominantly black and asking them if I could get a minority scholarship?!?! I am not racist by any means, obviously I am going...
