Hello all,

Is there anyone on here who has obtained this certification? I am curious about the renewal requirements, the page on nursing world is not very clear. My hospital is saying all I have to do is 120 hours of Continuing Education to recertification after 5 years. Appreciate any insight.

Glad you're looking into this now. I did CMSRN through MSNBC. I wasn't paying attention on the requirements until 2 months before it was due to expire. Not sure on ANCC, but with MSNBC, if you turn recert in with less than a month due, you pay the late fee. Also, if you upload your CE's, they have to certify them which can take some time. I would recommend familiarizing yourself with the ANCC website and your dashboard and upload CE's as you go to avoid headache later.

I'm not sure if you've already renewed your ANCC certification from when you posted. I received my MS certification through them.

ANCC needs to see 75 CE plus another professional development area on their list. You can include your clinical hours of specialty work - specify their required hours and signed by your nurse manager. You can also do 150 CE without doing the other requirements.

You can check on their website when you open an account with ANCC. Then, you can directly add your CEs as you do them.

Once you do all that's needed, you can easily apply for renewal.
