Hey everyone! I applied to the nurse residency program as soon as it opened on the 27th! I received my battery test literally 2 minutes after applying not even kidding lol I took it right away. I called nurse recruitment today and they said that they might send out emails tomorrow (12/24) so yes I guess they are working Christmas eve lol Reviewing previous threads the winter group received rejections before others received acceptance for interviews. But recruitment said tomorrow or the latest the 30th! I am a graduating BSN student from Pittsburgh. I interned in the Neurosurgical ICU for 3 months and I also still work there as a patient care technician. I also work as a patient care technician on a Medical surgical unit/Stroke rehab/and Neuro trauma/stepdown. I know they said in the requirements they said they like people who interned or were student techs so I am hoping my experience helps me out. So I put my interest in ICU. I talked to recruitment and they said ICUs are open for new grads. What about you guys? What are all of you interested in? Good luck to everyone!!
I did my internship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) one of the top 10 hospitals in the country...i am also prob doing my preceptorship in Trauma ICU there which is the main level one trauma center in western PA...what about u? I thought the battery test was good...i saw a lot of examples i deal with working with intensive care patients. What did everyone else think?
My friend did this program and gave me a lot of insight and background so if anyone wants to communicate my more frequently about questions and keeping each other posted these next 6 days feel
Free to email me [email protected]! I seriously would like to talk to others who are going through the same process! Merry Christmas! Hopefully all of is will be seeing each other at new grad day!
