back to the original topic.... take home packs of medications.

IMHO it makes my job easier, I dont have to count the narcs and they are already packaged. It helps speed up the discharge process and the sooner we get em discharged the sooner the room is empty.

I've often thought that if we had a big honking candydish, like my grandma used to have on her coffee table filled with percocet tabs on the clerks desk we could cut our through times to nil. :chuckle

PS: Magikgirl, IMHO is short for In My Humble Opinion/

vicodin! how true!

"vita meda vegin! it's so tasty, tastes just like candy!!!!!!!!!!"

you know we have gotten "critisized" for saying things like the "percocet drive through" - but for those in pain - it would be a god-send compared to an er visit where you might be accused of seeking -

for all the others who are just seeking - it would cut down on er visits as well..... win-win situation

Oh yeah! The clerk could just ask, do you want meds or do you really need to see a physician? And then she could point to the candydish with the percocet, vicodin, work notes etc. Yep folks I think we got this ER overcrowding problem licked.
