Medical Terminology 2138-BIOL-3309-700-N-M-SEL-TOPICS--2013-Fall

Hello all! I need your help/advice. Through my time at UTA I have bought several books that once the class was over I realized I could have done without. So I am reaching out to past students who have taken the medical terminology course (2013) to see if I can get away with only purchasing the online access code. Thanks a bunch!

I have to say I agree with you that a lot of classes I realized that I didn't need the book, but medical terminology was not one of them! I probably used the book more in that class than any of the others. I definitely recommend getting the book!

Agree with determined. You need the book. One class where you don't need ONE of the books is Holistic Assessment. You don't need the Nursing Diagnosis book, and certainly not a new one. You can get the 3 diagnoses you need on line with the outcomes and interventions. It was a total waste, cracked it 3 times. You definitely need the Assessment textbook, however.

Thank you all for responding. I will go ahead and order the book now!

I did not use the book, I only purchase the access code. I printed the the chapter content online and u them to study.

Hi, sorry to disturb you Shantel 1621. I am starting the program on Nov 4th. I have Tech writing and Professional nursing A/B. Can you tell me about thoses classes and are the books useful? Thank you

Hi theoZZ

I took Prof. A/B so long ago I don't remember if we were required to use a text... For technical writing a text was required and it is needed, it help with answering quiz questions...I don't know if it has change since I took it over 14 months ago. Let me know if u have more questions.

I am currently in PROF. NURS a&b. Have finished the 1 st five weeks. There is an APA book that is required but its less than 20 at the bookstore.

Thank you for all your answers.

I am thinking about taking this in the spring with a few other classes - it would have to overlap a bit. What did you think about the class? Was it super time consuming? Did you feel pretty prepared from information you already knew?

Thanks!

Kate
