Fogging glasses?

  1. I am scheduled to observe surgeries as part of my clinical experience. Last time, in the OR, I had difficulty keeping my glasses from fogging up because of the mask. Does anyone have suggestions on how to keep my glasses from fogging so I can actually see the procedure?! Thanks!

In addition to going to school, I work full-time in a DNA testing laboratory and part-time doing pre-insurance physicals.

Rain-X Anti-Fog. It is made to keep car interior windows from fogging up, but many people I know use it for motorcycle visers and safety glasses (including me). It can be bought at most auto stores inexpensively.

Make sure that the top part of your mask fits closely over your nose without any gaps at the top, or across your cheeks. This will help you considerably.

    Have fun watching...................

they have anti-fog masks for those w/ glasses....the masks have a thin coating of a plastic like material...

I used to put a piece of adhesive tape over the mask-nose junction--then they started having a mask that had a strip of adhesive built in--you just pulled off a piece of plastic inside the top of the mask and stuck it down.

If you ask the circulating nurse to help you, she probably will. Good luck. I hope you get to see a good case.
