Medical Professional Institute

Published

I was just wondering if anyone had heard of/had an opinion/went to the Medical Professional Institute in Malden Ma? I am on a wait list for a nursing program at a community college, but my start date isnt until Jan 2012 because of the waitlist. I was considering trying to do an LPN program in the meantime. Any thoughts? (btw, my community college has a wait list for their LPN program too, so that's not an option.)

I didn't get to call till later in the day, but the instructor I was advised to speak to was busy with a student when I did, so they requested I call back tomorrow morning.

Just so busy these days earlier in the day, but I'll be on getting this information on how far along they are for gaing full approval first thing tomorrow morning for those of us interested in this program.

Considering it is known to some of you who actually attended that they are in the process w/ the RN program & all, it still sounds like the right route to take with the institute's promising outlook in advancing their programs. :)

Would be cool too, to know in your class with other aspiring nursing students that are on here too. :)

Just got off the phone with MPI, FINALLY. :lol2:

But the future is looking brighter with them. :)

They are accredited & therefore the credits do transfer over IF you find a bridging program that accepts them. The only clincher, not all programs do, but luckily, some do.

They have me signed up for their next information session the first Wednesday of next month. I will then find out all about their progress in the process of starting an RN program themselves.

Considering there's no pre-reqs for this LPN program & they're starting a class in May, I'd like to try & jump on that wagon, if it's possible at this point.

Not sure if it is, tho. Gonna dang well try. :)

Onto hospital volunteer sign up & gym sign up. Get myself up & runnin'. :)

Good Luck and if you want to get a jumpstart start studying for the TEAS test. Luckily, MPI doesn't require a high percentage pass score. I think its 50% which is unreal. Makes it easier for us who haven't had math in awhile.

I came into the program having great Algebra skills but when it came to fractions, ratios, percentages and combining them together in a math problem I was lost. Anyway just a heads up on that.

D:nurse:

Ah, yes, my next step. Maybe a small book to help me study for the TEAS is in order? Do you think it's necessary?

Funny you say that about the Math, I've been going over all my basic Math & was a bit lost in the world of ratios & percentages just recently, breezed through fractions. My sister keeps telling me she struggles w/ Data & Probability & that's coming up for me.

Anything I don't understand fully, I force myself to sit there & go over or research till I understand it. It's been a bit frustrating but necessary to say the least.

I really want to, and obviously have to know my Math. ;)

50% sounds good to me, tho. Or doesn't. :lol2: I'm not sure about that.

I'll be psyched, though, to get their word on an RN program when I'm at the next information session.

I was wondering if anyone is going to start the May class? And why would you have to start from scratch in order to be a RN?

I'm not sure I can get into the May classes, if that's going to be the case. =/

Though I figured, under those circumstances I'd start working on my RN bridging program pre-reqs and have them all started or done even before LPN graduation.

Anyone here planning on attending tonight's information session?

I'm now wondering if one could get into this May program even if the info session attended would be for the month of May, and also how long TEAS scheduling, timing & processing takes & how the rules apply.

I'm sure I'm really dreaming now. :lol2: But I'm so, so antsy.

Esp. learning more about office LPN's in considering something for that time I'm working on my RN through EC.

I found out that they are in need of students. They never got to fill the spots for January thats why they are doing a May class. When I took my TEAS exam it didn't take long to get results, usually about a week. Don't give up, give it a try.

hey, i have a question. The testing that you need to take before the TEAS, which you need an 80% or above on, what is on the test , and also is it hard?

Its very easy. I got only 1 wrong when I took it. The question I believe was about blood types. Everything else was pretty basic. not at all difficult. Some basic math, actually the math was alot easier than the actual TEAS math.

oh alright! thanks! im gonna call the school for some more info, i would like to see if i can get in :)

@JM1988,

Did u get in?

Thanks.
