Medical Employees Fired for HIPAA Violations

I remember seeing a thread about this 'rumor' several months ago. I like the use of the generic medical employees.

That's because they weren't all nurses - if any of them were. They could have been unit clerks answering calls from the national enquirer, Lab technicians whose mothers were just dying to know or anybody else who worked at the hospital and had computer system access.

That's my point! Maybe CBS-11 realizes that "nurse" is not a blanket term for someone working at a hospital.

I figured several members here would be pleased since this negative story didn't highlight the actions of "nurses" (and that's assuming, as you pointed out, that nurses were even involved). ;)

LOL - exactly!

The media always seems to place particular emphasis on anything awful having to do with a nurse - but maybe it's just because I listen with a slanted ear too.
