Hey nurses! I graduate in may but of course apps start well before that. I was wondering if you all could answer a few questions for me.

1. When applying can you essentially apply once but it goes to all locations and they then reach out for an interview?

2. What is the base pay for the residency program?

3. What is the night and weekend differential?

im trying to weigh my options and without pay transparency on the sites is kind of challenging.

Hey! Good luck with your final semester! Here’s some answers to your questions.

1. When applying can you essentially apply once but it goes to all locations and they then reach out for an interview? Initially, I applied to the different locations. It was one overall application per location. Since then, I think the applications have changed. There will be an expo for your graduating class in which you conduct a 5ish minute interview with 3 different positions/ locations. When it gets closer to time, a recruiter will reach out to you to see which specific location/ speciality you’re interested in and based on your interests, they’ll send you an  invite to schedule 3 interviews per expo day. There was 2 expo (interview) days they offered. If you need a virtual interview, ask and they will set you up with one on the expo day! I wish I would have known that ahead of time.

2. What is the base pay for the residency program? The starting pay is $30. They’ll pay you more based on hospital and LVN experience. They quoted me the highest out of different hospitals but I’m an LVN.

3. What is the night and weekend differential? Nights $3.75 and weekends $4.30 as of now.

im trying to weigh my options and without pay transparency on the sites is kind of challenging. - Yes, I wish more hospital websites were transparent!  At this time, most hospitals starting pay is $30. Baylor was like $28 without experience and $29.50 with experience. I’ve heard that our rates for this class are higher than the previous semesters so hopefully the rates go up when you guys graduate!!

I hope this helps!!

One last question.

Do they offer a sign on bonus

Do they offer a sign on bonus

They just started retention bonuses. It’s 4,000 after year 1, and 6,000 after year 2. You would have to sign the contract for that long and stay. They also have a no contract option which is no bonus.

Is anyone elses BLS certification expiring soon? Mine expires in January and I start at medical city in February. Is this something we can renew with them during orientation or do I need to find a CPR class on my own?

Hi guys! I have an interview with medical city children's NICU this week. If anyone is able to tell me what to expect or what interview questions they may ask. I would greatly appreciate it!

thank you
