Medical Center of Plano

Published

Hey everyone!

I was offered a position at Medical Center of Plano for Med-Surg and I was just wondering how the hospital is, what's it's like, and what to expect? It seems like a really nice place and I was hoping to learn more about it.

Anyone familiar with the hospital?

Congrats on the job! I applied there sometime last year, never got a response. Sorry, I don't know anything about the hospital other than I applied for positions there.

Thanks! I accepted the offer so I'm hoping I like it. It seems like the Texas market is saturated with nurses!

It is a good hospital for the most part. Different floors have different cultures to be sure but in general they try to stick to evidence based practice and most of the people are good people. However, it is an HCA facility and thus approaches healthcare with an eye for the shareholders.

My wife used to work there as a RN, she enjoyed it, she said the charting software was outdated.

Based on what I was told I think it is outdated. I'm pretty flexible and adaptable though. I'm willing to work with this for 13 weeks if the people are good and supportive.
