trying to find out if lvns can be certified in med/surg in texas. i work on a med/surg floor in an acute hospital. rns can be certified in med/surg, so why can't lvn. know of someone that is also an lvn in another city in texas and certified in oncology and can hang chemo. if anyone has any info please post.

If your floor does any palliative/end-of-life care, you might be interested in certification as a hospice and palliative care nurse. LVN's are eligible for that. Check out www.nbchpn.org . The only other LVN-eligible certification I could find with a Google search would be urology nursing.
