I m planning to the med/surg certification by ANCC. The review book is called med surg exam review and resource manual from ANCC is quite expensive $145 with ANA discount. Is it worth? I found from amazon.com American med surg certification exam review book $50 with good reviews. Does Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.
The one from amazon.com is called American med/surg nursing certification exam review by Phyllis Healy

When I took my med-surg cert test in 1997 I bought a review book from Barnes and Noble.
less than $50. Can't imagine what must be in the >$100 book-gold?

Yes. I don't want to spend $145 if I can get for $50. I joined the ANA membership to get discount on the test. And it isn't cheap either.

I bought three books for the MedSurg exam. McGrawHill's Medical Surgical Nursing Exam REVIEW (it only has "pearls of wisdom"), LWW's Medical-Surgical Nursing made Incredibly Easy! (the 2nd edition, and not too helpful for the test but a MUST HAVE for all MedSurg nurses!) and LWW's Springhouse Reivew for Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (fourth edition, comes with CD).
I'm taking the exam next month. Let's see how that goes!
Wish y'all the best!
cb_rn,
Is the ACNN review book helpful for the exam though?
