I am a RN with about 13 year experience in the hospital setting. I took about 5 years off to stay with home with my kids. About a year ago I started working for a small home health agency but I don't think the home setting is for me. This particular home health agency was small and I didn't get to really utilize my skills. I just did mostly assessments, wound care, and setting up oral meds. I am now taking a prn job in a nursing home and I am going for my first day of general orientation tomorrow. I was told my the director that I would do a "med pass tests". What does that entail? written test? skills test? Does anyone know or have an idea? Thanks so much!

We call them medication competency. Usually it involves shadowing and doing a med round with another nurse, and answering a whole bunch of questions
