What census do you cover? (Bed total and average total patient load and PPS load?)Are you the sole MDS nurse, or not?Do you enter your own data? Are you current with assessments normally, or normally late?Salaried, or hourly?

I am an RN.

Two of us - other is an LPN.

Census is at 88, goal of 92

We enter our sections. Dietary, SS, activities do theirs.

15-20 med A's

Always current. Not acceptable to be late

I'm hourly.

I've always been the only MDS Coordinator anywhere I've worked. LVN. Usually about a census of 100. Highest was 150, with about 50 of them PPS schedule. Pretty intense. I've always done all the data entry also. The most assessments I recall doing in one week was over 90, with about 20 comprehensives, and that week there were 30 care plan meetings. With 30 hours of stand up and other meetings, and all those assessments, etc., I always found time to get it all done, and on time, in a 40 hour week. Naturally, overtime was a capital offense!

Wow... this is hard to believe, sorry, but it is... 30 hours of meetings in one week left you 10 hours to do 30 care plan meetings and input and perform 90 assessments(20 comprehensives) AND you were out on time??!! Sorry.. I believe you had a busy week, but, perhaps you exaggerated a tiny bit?

I had one week with 28 assessments (1/2 were Med A), 4 were annuals/new admits, 6 hours of care plan meetings and 10-15 hours of other meetings, and yep... got out... LATE worked 10-12 hour days in order to get them done. This was probably my most assessments for myself in a week. I believe the other 2 MDS had 15-20 each themselves that week. (This was a past job with 240 beds.)

Yes, what I meant it is FELT like 30 hours of meetings. Sometimes it felt like 30 hours of meetings every DAY, even.
