MDE/DNP Columbia 2023

Published

Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to Columbia's MDE/DNP program for the 2023 start.

Feel free to introduce yourself, ask questions and offer guidance and support to other candidates. Please be respectful and kind and remember that this is a long, exhausting, expensive, stressful journey for lots of people. Let's do our best to uplift and help each other. Good luck!

I was accepted for the MDE/DNP with the PMHNP specialty! I'm absolutely thrilled, I'm pretty much certain that I'll be attending. Congratulations to everyone!! ?

Congrats to all those accepted.

Did anyone here apply to the Post-BSN DNP?

Seems like decisions for that program are yet to be released, but wanted to get some insight.

Hi Everyone,

Congratulations to everyone! When are we required to notify them of our decision to attend?

I'm waiting as well. I'd guess if they have the MDE-DNP portion posted they'd have our DNP decisions posted soon?

I got waitlisted for MDE—trying to keep hope alive!

Has anyone received their financial aid offer yet?

I appreciate this is sensitive and folks might not want to respond, but if you are comfortable sharing whether/how much merit scholarship you have been offered, that would be helpful information in weighing various offers and whether I could possibly make Columbia work for my family. I received the Seamless Scholarship only--$40K split between the first two doctoral years. The first year is so overwhelmingly expensive, though, and many other programs offer a lot more help with that hefty first year.

Also, I would welcome any tidbits you may have picked up in the first admitted students zoom session! Anything surprising, encouraging, different than what you knew about the program previously?

Thanks!

Current student here. Everybody who is MDE/DNP who goes directly from the MDE into the DNP program gets that same seamless scholarship of $40k.
