Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to Columbia's MDE/DNP program for the 2023 start.

Feel free to introduce yourself, ask questions and offer guidance and support to other candidates. Please be respectful and kind and remember that this is a long, exhausting, expensive, stressful journey for lots of people. Let's do our best to uplift and help each other. Good luck!

I've been to a few virtual ones, but unfortunately I can't go to the in-person ones since I'm based in a different state : ( Also, I'm in my last semester for finishing up my bachelor's degree, so it makes it very difficult for me to travel to NY to attend the in-person sessions.

It’s my understanding that Columbia takes a holistic approach when weighing a persons application, so I was just interested in knowing if anyone could share anything they know regarding their desired GPA/Grades.

Hi Everyone!

Today, I received an email update stating, "Your application has passed the initial admissions review and is considered complete for review."

Has anyone else received this or any other updates?

Woohoo! Congrats! Would you mind sharing when you submitted your materials? 

I have not heard anything yet. I submitted everything on September 29, but two of my letters of rec weren't submitted until October 7 and 18. So, I expect I'll have to wait a bit to hear anything.

@mmCA I had some issues with my computer being  too old for the interviews ? (yikes!), and I had to locate a newer one--which was difficult for me! I turned everything in on the due date, October 17th.

The transcript for one school was not uploaded, which I was able to see from the "Status" page (link in confirmation email). I was able to upload this unofficial transcript the next day.

If you click that link, does everything look completed for your application?

Yes, I also received the email stating that my application passed the initial review :) I submitted all of my materials on October 5th!

Yep, mine looks like it's all complete! I was told explicitly that the portal would stay open for letters of rec for about a week after the deadline, so I'm not worried about the LOR that my recommender submitted a day late. Still, it will bring peace of mind to know it has passed initial review!

@mmCA I was also in the same boat as you! I submitted mine on 09/25, didn't get any emails regarding that my application has passed initial review yesterday, then I received one today!

Does anyone know about the admission deadlines for Columbia? AKA when decisions about interviews and so forth .. come out?
