ugh- Where shall I begin... BLAH- didn't get accepted into MDC's Nursing Program first time around. Application is in for the spring. This application round Ive completed all pre-reqs and co-reqs
Have my A.A -- 71 credits hrs 3.45 gpa
Science gpa 3.57
Overall cum 3.26 (retaking a 4 credit hr class; it will definitely put it in the 3.5 avg after this fall term)
A bit confused because i'm not exactly sure whether acceptance will be based on my A.A gpa or my cum gpa? Does having the A.A even help any? Some-1, anyONE please give me a glimpse of hope>???
AnyONE else on the same BOAT here?
I could be extremely wrong, so don't quote me on it. LoL
Everything I call, they seem to know nothing. I figured I would just wait for the LETTER...I'll probably go in to the Medical campus and ask to speak with an advisor and see what they tell me. Have you heard anything yet? Oh man, I also applied to the Phlebotomy Program as a last resort...I would be super depressed if I didn't get into that one either LoL
Breathe, I think you will be just fine! You have a 3.5 and that's usually the knock off point for most students to get into their program. And if you don't get in then you apply again for the Fall term. Waiting sucks and I may just go into MDC tmrw and see what I can get out of the advisors haha. And what made you decide to go into Nursing after graduating?
Well ever since highschool, I always wanted to be a Nurse. I went to a local highschool that had a vocational program to obtain certificates in health-related fields like Home Health Aide, EKG Tech, CNA, etc. Anyway, when I graduated highschool, a couple days later I was already at FSU for the summer semester. I was 17, and I wasn't focused on my studies! So I ended up earning my Social Work degree and now I want to use both my Social Work degree and my RN license to help people.

I would've loved to apply to Barry for their BSN program, but it's to expensive for me! There are always loans, so if I don't get into MDC, I will try to apply to Barry! and Nova! You know what would be awesome if MDC had a BSN program (not just RN to BSN program)!
