MDC Nursing Program Spring 2017

Published

Hello everyone, My name is Sheyla Fundora and I'm planning to enter the MDC Nursing Program in Spring of 2017 as generic full time. I have a 3.6 science GPA and a 3.78 cumulative GPA. I'm planning to take the Hesi A2 for the first time next Monday. I'm very nervous and I was wondering if any of you guys have any advice or recommendations.

Also I made this post so we can all share our stories and encourage other students who are also applying to this program.

Thank you all !!!

Hey Sheyla, My name is Kaara and I just took the HESI A2 yesterday and I PASSED with and 85% wooohooo!!!The best advise would be to use the recommended Elsivier(sp) book and check out videos on Youtube for a quick breakdown on each topic! That was super helpful! Specifically the Videos from Crash Course and Mometrix also has videos, that helped me immensely with the Biology portion, especially since I have never had a Biology Course before... I applied for both the Generic Full Time and Accelerated(have Bachelors in Marketing, so this is complete career change). I am an older student at 34 hopefully abut to start nursing school in Jan. My GPA for science is a 3.74. SO i think i have a pretty good shot!!!

Hey Kaara, thank you so much for the advice. I took the HESI today and I received a score of 89. I think that with my GPA and my HESI score together will be sufficient to get into program. Let's see what happens but I think we both have a very good shot at getting in. Good luck!!! I hope everything goes well for you and it was very nice meeting you. ;)

Hi, I have applied for the transitional and full-time program at Miami Dade. Took the HESI exam on June 27, 2016 with Cumulative score of 88.27%. Science GPS is 3.5.
