I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!
I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol
I didn't receive a single phone call. I have a 3.87 pre-req GPA and scored 88% on the TEAS. I just tried calling the school and they said they aren't aware of any phone calls being made. I know that I already have been selected for my program of choice (at another school) but I will be perplexed if I don't get into MDC. I know that no one is guaranteed admissions but come on...I'm trying to figure out what gives with these phone calls
Double check the phone number in your profile. If it's wrong then you didn't get the call because of it. You have great scores, I doubt that they are the problem!
I called and they said by next week. I am really starting to get upset that I can't get a straight answer from MDC. I swear..if I called 20 times I'd get 20 different answers!!!! My nerves can't take this!!
U are so right! I just called and asked for the nursing dep't. She said they are still finalizing who gets in and will be sending out notifications next week at the earliest. I told her that someone called last week and said emails would start going out today. She told me that was the advisement office calling to let everyone know to check email this year...I got 3 calls last week and each time the person said they were calling from the nursing dep't but she said those calls were not from them, they were from advisement. I'm so confused! :hdvwl:

Exactly....I actually went in because Im taking a class(hsc0003) at the campus. I spoke to an advisor, a guy at advisement desk, and the nursing dept. They all gave me a different story. Guy at desk--said emails been going out since wednesday and will be going out til friday. Advisor--said emails will be going out this week till july, so keep check my email until then. Nursing dept---emails will be going out friday until next week. I ask all of them why are we all getting different info and they each couldnt answer my question. So,I said I cant wait anymore, is there a way that I can get my result now, they all told me that they dont know what students got in and all they now is that emails will be going out. NO BODY knows what's going on....True MDC nature. We'll just have to live in misery and torture untill then I guess
We are very emotionally invested in this because we are choosing a career, and trying to get it started. For them, we are just the next group of nursing students among thousands who have already passed through the halls of MDC. Whoever gets accepted will start when they start, and for them there isn't really a rush on their part.
In the offices over there, they are probably already geared up for "acceptance week" when they will have a huge influx of calls from people wondering where the emails are, why they didn't get a phone call, why they got rejected when they heard about a friend of a friend of a friend who got in with lower scores than their own, etc...as much as I'm on the edge of my seat, I can't really say I envy what they have to do over the next couple of months...

Ask for the nursing department because NO letters have gone out to anyone (let alone starting last wed) i think i know which guy in advisement is probably saying that though...he gave me so much wrong info the first time I went there that now when I go I request to see anyone but him. Sad but true. The nursing department decides who gets in and they send the emails so I guess I'm going to believe them. This is so frustrating! :anbd:
