Hi guys! Who else is applying for MDC Fall 2011?
I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!
I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol
Well good luck to us all! :heartbeat
Btw, my favorite adviser is Olga. She is this petite cuban lady with short black hair. She is darling.
Oh and when I needed an override for a transfer credit, I went right to the department head of the Science department at Wolfson. I sent her an email first explaining that I was more than able to take(in my case) BSC2010 although I hadn't taken the pre-req, she told me she would OK it and to go see her. Her last name I believe was Damas. You could try talking to her.

Olga! That's the one I was forgetting!
Hehe Yes I thought maybe it was her. Her office is all the way in the back on the left-hand side. She was one of the first advisers I met there and right away I knew she was the best. She never forgets a face and she is so helpful.
Sigh I really hope we allll get in. BTW I spoke to a F/T student on campus the other day and she suggested a few things. She told me to start reading the Fundamentals book because they tell you to read 10 chapters the first week. She said to mostly look through the nursing process, basics of assessment... I forgot what else. And she told me to brush up on the metric system for dosage calc, and if you can to read through the first few chapters of the book. I believe a student here posted the ISBN of it already. Its like $51 bucks on amazon, not bad. What else... I think that was it....
You all have been amazing with all of the info..I really hope its only 500 applicants..that number is alot lower than I expected..alot better than the 5000 that guy told me when I called last month...I almost had a heart attack too!! LOL!! Wouldn't it be amazing if we all got in and got to meet each other??!!? Anyway, lets all pray for each other..I think we would make amazing nurses!!
I just got the phone call to check my email. I have MDC email forwarded to my gmail, which I get on my phone. I couldn't help myself but to manually check my MDC email account anyway! I'm hoping that all the information we need will be in the email... 10 chapters in one week for a single class seems a bit much, so I"d like to start on it, but I really just can't take the financial chance of getting the wrong book :-/
So glad to know soon, and hope we get to know everything we need to do before orientation!

Did she happen to mention how many individuals would be accepted to the Fall semester?
