Had an emergency situation with a pt that had all of my licensed staff involved and I needed a Physician like yesterday and this dude hangs up on me because he was in a meeting of some sort...really?
I called him right back and was less than nice. During the first call I used words like please during the second call he got the F word twice and he miraculously showed up about 90 seconds later
I cant believe that guy...how about do your damn job!!! The meeting can wait...YOUR pt and YOUR staff need you bad! Totally ridiculous and uncalled for. I did apologize for yelling at him lol
Funny part was I dialed his office number...so where was this meeting? Yeah...iT was five min before his shift was over
I once had a Trauma Doc too lazy to come up the elevator from the ED while his patient quickly declined. Forever Grateful for our House Supervisor RN who came and looked at my patient and went down to um "Talk" him into coming up. ******* I got questioned for a possible deposition, patient lived, but it was bad. I hope she won some money for her treatment. Thank God everything I wrote was the truth and showed I did everything I could. Wrote home to me about documenting like you could go to court.
sorry this is off topic. Mind gets rambling. lol. on the phone thing, Night Shift RNs know the "sleepy annoyed Dr" sometimes they need a little "help" out of their sleep haze

Have to admit I thought this was the place to bring up the Indian physician who thought it OK to nuzzle my neck while I was holding a pressure dressing on a kid whose jugular line had just been D/C'd, while the image of his wife with 8 kids in the car should just evaporate into nothingness in my mind...
Nasty physicians should be reported like anyone else--chalk this one up to being an a$%hole, and report it as such. Doctors shouldn't be given a pass unless other people would--and they wouldn't, if you wanted to know. Shame on them, not you.
