MD Hourly Wage - Information is Power

Published

I just wanted to start a post where information could be shared freely about what area hospitals are offering in terms of hourly salary. This way I think we as nurses will be able to better gauge what the market is offering and therefore know what our options are.

How about we format it this way:

  1. Hourly wage (Include any overtime bonus, differentials, etc)
  2. Hospital
  3. Specialty
  4. Experience
  5. Miscellaneous info that may be helpful

1. $25 and change. About $28/hr for nightshift weekday or day weekend. $30 for weekend night. No differential for precepting, charge, etc. No bonus for overtime on any day.

2. UMMC

3. SICU

4. 2+ years

5. Just fyi, CSICU new grad starts at $28 and change. After a year, I believe its about $30/hr. Apparently this was because a few years ago, nurses were leaving in droves. So they started they increased salary for only that unit to retain nurses. Other critical care nurses are obviously a bit peeved.

Specializes in ICU.

1. $28.80 (salaried. Includes diff)

2. JHH

3. ICU

4. New graduate BSN

I'm a new grad with a BSN. I've had an interview at Sinai and they start new grads at $26.60 hr. with $3.50 shift differential for nights and weekends differential.

If it helps I interviewed for the IMC.
